Mini-Split HVAC is Installed … Windows for Historic Masonic Lodge Building are In

Building Committee Recommendation of HVAC Split Unit Has Been Installed in Rambo Dinning Room
Dripping Springs AC & Heating LLC has completed the installation of the Mitsubishi HVAC Mini-Split in the dinning room. Callaway Electric of Dripping Springs ran the electrical wiring to the new mini-split outside the dinning room north wall and we’re happy to report we have AC / Heat (the mini-split also eliminated a propane heater in the dinning room).
Not only did the replacement of 12 windows on the ground floor of our Historic building improve its appearance, it also removed an unsightly AC/Heat window unit seen in the photo below in the front of the building, but that window unit provided AC/Heat for the dinning room. Of course the installation of the “split unit” HVAC in the north wall of the dinning room was not cheap. The Lodge had over $12K in expenditures to replace the windows which depleted a large part of our Building Funds. Your Donation to the HVAC will help to replenish the building funds used to purchase and install the split unit HVAC, now providing an energy efficient and comfortable dinning room. When donating make a note your donation is for HVAC and thank you.

LCRA, PEC Awarded $21,795 Grant to help fund window replacement in Rambo Masonic Lodge, a Recorded Texas Historic Building in Dripping Springs Historic District. The total cost of the project is $34,640, the Lodge is responsible for the balance (minus the $21,795 grant) of $12,845. The historic building is considered by many to be “the crown jewel” of the historic district. Your DONATION to Windows will help fund the replacement of these twelve windows on the ground floor. Make a note your donation is for Windows. The required Applications for approval to replace the existing windows was submitted to the Texas Historical Commission and Dripping Springs Historic Preservation Commission. All twelve windows on the ground floor have been replaced with a Marvin Ultimate window from their Historic Solutions selection. Professional installation was provided by Southwest Exteriors.
With the help of the Community Development Partnership Program (CDPP) grant from the Lower Colorado River Authority and Pedernales Electric Cooperative, Rambo Masonic Lodge No. 426 now has these new energy-efficient windows installed in its 141-year-old building within the Dripping Springs Downtown Historic District.
The two-story limestone building, Dripping Springs Academy, was completed in 1882, and was declared a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1968. Rambo Masonic Lodge has owned the building since 1952. Read the LCRA Press Release HERE. (Press Release Photo courtesy of LCRA)
